The Murcia region

Costa Cálida, meaning “Warm Coast,” stretches over 250 kilometres of stunning Mediterranean shoreline in the province of Murcia. This beautiful region boasts endless white-sand beaches, vibrant marinas, and secluded coves with crystal-clear waters. With more than 3,000 hours of sunshine annually and average temperatures above 20ºC—even in winter—it’s a year-round destination for sunseekers.

The area is renowned for its rich Murcian cuisine, offering a delicious variety of local dishes. The diet here is centered around fresh produce like rice, legumes, fruit, and vegetables, alongside seafood and lean white meats. Known as La Huerta—Spain’s “market garden”—the region thrives with wheat, olives, and vineyards that yield exceptional bread, olive oil, and wines. You’ll also find an abundance of fig and almond trees, as well as groves of orange, lemon, and olive trees that line the landscape.

Just a short drive from the resort lies Alhama de Murcia, a historic town whose name derives from the Arabic word for “hot springs.” The heart of Alhama can be found in Plaza Vieja, nestled at the foot of a ruined Moorish castle that once served as a watchtower. A must-see is the Los Baños Archaeological Centre, located opposite the Church of San Lázaro, where you can explore ancient Arabic thermal baths.
